The North American automobile manufacturers are now under, according to the largest global study on the performance of the sector. While the producers asia out to be the best in the survey, led by researchers from Queen's University Management School in Belfast.

The survey has been reviewed factors such as the volume of greenhouse gas emissions from the production facilities and the number of accidents recorded by the company between 1999 and 2007. In addition, the survey also noticed how efficient the car manufacturers have taken advantage of the natural resources available. The survey has calculated the ratio of sales of sustainable value that companies can be different than directly, regardless of their size.

The Asian manufacturers including Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan, Honda and Suzuki all outperformed their competitors from North America. Quite different from Asian manufacturers, both Ford and General Motors (GM) is still better in the negative territory, with GM as the worst producer.

There are a variety of images of European producers. Meanwhile, BMW has memuncaki ratings from all manufacturers, amounting to 17 in most of this year, another European automaker PSA (Peugeot, Citroën), Renault, Volkswagen and Daimler Chrysler / Daimler AG continued to go up and down sometimes rank. FIAT AUTO considered good enough throughout the review period.

Ralf Barkemeyer from Queen University Management School, explained: "GM's contribution to the value derived from the presence of carbon dioxide emissions, nitrogen oxide and sodium oxide as a terrible waste during the period 1999 to 2007. sodium oxide contribution value indicates the worst level of resource efficiency in all studies had been done ".

Professor Frank Figge from Queen University Management School added: "The bottom line is that this study shows large differences in performance in the manufacturing of automotive sustainability. This shows that the production process itself provides sufficient room for improvement in terms of sustainability performance. We hope the car manufacturers and governments around the world will note this important study ".
